learning the music making thingamawhosit

I feel kinda all over the map tonight... Way over multitasking at nothing in particular, if that makes sense.

I'm elbows deep into figuring out Logic (music making mumbojumbo) while having the musical attention span of a goldfish (listened to everything on my itunes at least once in random succession) AND I've been drawn to youtube multiple times this evening as if it's a shiny object I simply can't resist! I find this mildly perplexing cause I'm not normally this ADD. hmm Must concentrate more or I'll never figure out where everyhing is in Logic.

Anyways on the music making note: we may be putting up a new myspace for Js' music endeavors. Hopefully it will be more of a collaborative effort between us but for that to happen I need to figure out Logic. I'll likely be the one managing the 'social networking' for the music project cause he lacks the social skills to play nice on the interwebs.

Aight. Back to the trenches.

And cause I haven't posted anything naked in a while:

Ahh logic. It's been a few years since i've used it, I've since discovered I can do most of what I want in a combination of Reason and Ableton Live.

I can't wait to get my hands on Record! Always looking forward to hearing new music - some day I hope to get back into making/recording more. I just have to pry the camera out of my hands long enough to do that :)

Sweet! I'm familiar with Reason and Ableton but thought I'd try my hand at Logic after being won over by how easy the work flow seemed (when you know what you're doing) after countless hours of tutorials on youtube.

I'm going to have to look into Record, cause I haven't heard much buzz about it yet.

I can sympathize with needing to pry the camera out of your hands. And I'd much rather spend the time figuring out logic on photos, except it looks like I wont be shooting as much as I'd like to this summer (lack of resources to travel), so I may as well preoccupy myself with something fun!

Have you tried FL Studio? I use it...pretty slick piece of software. http://flstudio.image-line.com/

Mac! FL = <3 haha

Jonas has been using FL for years and loves it! FL is still confusing to me so when I got my macbook I thought I'd give the logic start pack a try.

How long have you been playing with FL?

Mac, so how do you use FL? I thought you had an apple computer? Do you keep a pc for other uses? Or do you use bootcamp on your mac to run windows?

I'm quite intrigued.... And impressed that you know FL, are a photography rockstar and have a family. *high five*

LOL...I use it on a PC. I use a PC for my engineering work and a Mac for everything else. Oh, I have only tinkered with it this year. I have too many irons in the fire so I haven't had a good stint of time to play with it in any real capacity. I have made five or so ditties with it :-)

I know where you're coming from regarding too many irons in the fire. Over extended much? bah! Trying to balance business and a home life is exhausting.

Jonas is the FL dork, and I've only played with music stuff when I have time left over I'd rather be shooting with.

I'd still love to hear what all you're been up to in FL.
