Haven't uploaded any pictures in a week or so, so here's a weekend update.

Monday I start full time schooling! I'm really excited and I'm already pretty immersed in my course subject matter. When the course wraps up near the end of May/early June, I'm hoping to head out to Vancouver for a celebratory trip for surviving the course. If you're in Vancouver, take note I will be taking some bookings. I'll post more on the trip later, at the moment I'm going to go enjoy my friday night; hopefully you do too. ;)

Michael Helms was interviewed by the NoHo (North Hollywood) Arts District and not only is it a great read for photographers and fans of photography, it would really help NoHo out if you go read and comment. Their page views and comments are part of the 'counter' system which all plays into their funding. And yes the comments are the main part of what's important. It doesn't have to be much, just a little one liner is hugely appreciated.

And for those of you who haven't creeped the depths of my blog, I shot with this incredible man back in in January of '09. I stayed with the always wonderful Perry Gallagher and was fortunate to shoot with Michael twice ever so briefly while I was in town and had time to sneak in some sushi at Tori Yens. I've actually been contemplating trying to get back to LA sometime this year to shoot with Michael and Perry again. I miss them both quite a bit.

Yesterday I received a lovely package in the mail! It was a book that was published some time ago which has one of my pictures in it! I first heard about this book a while ago, but I'm really excited to of now gotten my very own copy!

The Naked and The Lens : A guide for nude photography by Louis Benjamin

I had planned on taking pictures with my camera but the battery is mysteriously dead... So my isight webcam will unfortunately do. I'll upload new pictures tomorrow with better pictures once my camera is functional.

I shot this with Daniel Sikorskyi a few years ago on a trip to Victoria, British Columbia. This was downtown Victoria in a 'mostly' empty parking garage. I remember being up on the edge and feeling the wind sweep past my bare chest and thinking about how easily I could fall over the edge right then... And I'm not normally afraid of heights but the thoughts of fear hit probably 2 seconds after I had my feet back on the asphalt. We were kicked out of this particular location shortly after capturing this shot. I suppose it has something to do with the 4 or 5 cars that drove past me nude on the railing of their parking garage... Or it could of been the people in the office building across the street that I flashed, but somehow I think it was the woman who caught a glimps of too much skin under my trench on her way down to the ticket taker who ratted us out. Totally worth it though.

I'm a fan of the Art Nudes Blog and today they featured my friend Mac Swift!

They said he'd updated his site, so I scooted over to take a peek.... and holy mackerel! This man has been busy! I first shot with Mac 3 years ago when I first started doing nudes and he's just kept getting better and better over the years! His work is simply incredible, and anyone that hasn't seen his work should go take a look right now.

And while you're there take a look at his project 'the raw files', it's a fabulous concept for a project where two photographers take one model for a 6 month term and shoot consistently for that term, then they all blog about their trials & experiences. Simply fabulous work all around!
