I got to play photographer this weekend as it was my little sisters highschool graduation!
She had the ultimate princess dress, her hair did all pretty and a fabulous pre-party party! I basically followed her around all day, shot the ceremony with a 75-200mm af-s lens (should of thought to bring a tripod though...), then took some snaps at the hair dressers too. But most important was the getting dressed and pre-party pictures, which for those I used a 50mm Af-S, which when paired with my 1.5 sensor gave some really great shots playing off of the short depth of field. All the girls were all dressed up eating ordeurves and sipping champagne at one of the gals houses. Then it was time for the limo ride and they even snuck in some champagne! All that work and it was only the start of her night, but naturally that was where I said adieu.
Apparently it was a great evening, epic even. She has lost her voice entirely, but otherwise seems to be still in one piece. Then again she couldn't tell me many details yet cause she was only able to whisper over the phone. hahaha!
The shots turned out great, and I've been playing with them in photoshop for most of the day. Mostly just adjusting the exposures a wee little bit. I'm about to head over to her house for a bbq & to show the edits, might print a few off at the 1hr photo to test how they look printed before hand... If I don't get lazy.*yeah I know it's a bit blown out but the lighting was really hard to figure out. The raw has more data, but I'm still adjusting levels.*
uh oh! There are thunderstorm noises outside... I suppose the bbq may just get rained out.
