web testers needed.

I need some people to test out a website I built in iweb. It's the portfolio site I've been working on, but much to my dismay - I feel it's loading too slowly to go live. But I'm wondering what it's like for other people on other systems with other web connectivity...

So while I acknowledge that I'm likely going to be starting from scratch again (this time in dreamweaver), I'm looking for a few people to look at the site and tell me what they like & what they don't. What attributes should I carry over to my new/next hopefully better site? Also, I need to know if these testers think the site is publishable until the new one is ready, or if it's best to leave the domain empty till then.

Comment here or email me: aenux.model@gmail.com if you want to be one of the site testers. I'll reply to you with the web address.

I will gladly test your site for you :) I'm currently working on one for my clothing line... and I have a professional helping me... but it's still very challenging.

Awesome, could you guys either post or send me your email addresses?

I want to keep a cap on who all gets access to the site so I can better track who likes what.

Thanks!

I have time to help.

Just let me know if you still need people.

Thanks for volunteering guys! I keep working on it everyday, it's very much a continual thing. So let me know your thoughts.

And fyi it's not attempting to be a pay site, and I will get another one up maybe in a year or so. It's about making this one the best it can be so I can just get it online.

Thoughts off the top of my head..

-bigger "back to index" button in sub-albums... I had to look for it every time.
-"favourite images" don't link to larger versions...
-I am used to the cursor changing when hovering over a link (from the main albums page) so I was a little thrown off when clicking on the covers. This is not a big issue, just a small thing I noticed in the flow.

subjective observations:
-a few comments/captions/tidbits on photos would be nice. "this was my grad dress" "so-and-so made this for me" "oh look i'm pregnant here! that was fun!" or whatever. I personally like to hear little behind-the-scenes things about shoots. If this was strictly portfolio, I wouldn't add them, but you have a great bio on your homepage so it feels a little more personal.
- I love the layout! it's very simple yet effective, and the paper texture and photo album covers add some lux details.
-photo navigation is very fast and efficient.
-I dont feel like there is any lag/slowness in loading.

Great work as always! I really enjoyed looking at it all in one place. *goes off to work on graphics for my performance site!* Thanks for the inspiration!

Somehow I randomly ended up on your blog. Anyway, if you want to speed it up a bit you are going to want to enable compression on your site. I would also run all your main images through http://www.smushit.com/ysmush.it/. Last but not least, I would have the pictures on your home page either pointing to your portfolio or nothing at all as the "about me" section is never anyone's first stop.
