Things have been pretty tame around here the last little while. Not much to report.
The snow/ice near my place turned Bow Trail into a war zone for vehicles and it's a wonder anyone made it home. Actually my mom and grandma had been out shopping during the day and wound up with my grandma spending the night at my parents place because the trek to get her home would of been too scary and just not worth it. And they have a 4x4. The extent of which we went out was to Safeway to pick up some essentials.
But all danger aside the first sheer covering of ice always brings back some really vivid memories as a child. We lived on a really quiet crescent and we used to play on the ice and slide across the road to the park. and for some reason that sensation of gliding almost out of control has lingered with me for the longest time. Gets me all exhilarated and tingle-y. So needless to say our adventure yesterday to Safeway was a blast cause I had a HUGE open parking lot to slide around in with glee. hehe
I'm not looking forward to the blustery snowy weather ahead but I'm not particularily deading it like I normally do. I'm stuck with this odd complacency about it all. We have a car now - which is nice, but I'm still without my license and that sucks cause I still need to bus it when J isn't around. :( And busses with strollers don't work out so well. Not that any of that will matter cause I'm such a hermit anyways.
Most of this post was stolen from 3xl's blog.
Latex is such a pricey commodity but for those of us with fetishes it it's very much worth it! Many people I know in real life have mentioned interest in latex but are cautious with committing to buying any because of such expensive prices.
So for those of you who don't follow the latex enthusiast blogs as religiously as I do - I thought I'd pass along the news, because these sales really are few and far between.

Black Friday, for those of you not living in the US, is normally the craziest shopping day of the year, the day after Thanksgiving. Thousands of bargain hunters will line up outside a store ready to stampede (sometimes literally!) into the shop to take advantage of the special post-Thanksgiving sales.
Latex bargain hunters won’t have to risk stampedes to take advantage of such sales, however, because more and more latex retailers are throwing Black Friday or Cyber Monday (the Monday after Thanksgiving) online sales!
House of Bias is taking off a whopping 35% of all orders Friday only. Check out the site to make your selections, but be sure to use the code code “BLACKFRIDAY” when checking out.
Latexa Fashion will also be offering online deals on Black Friday. Take 20% off all online orders up to 5,000.00 kroner placed Friday November 27, and 30% off all orders over 5,000.00 kroner! Sale prices good only on online orders.
With deals like these, it’s silly not to stock up on your fetish needs!

New Additions to the Black Friday List
Ego Assassin will also be doing a Black Friday sale on Nov. 27. 20% off. Use promo code BLACK at the checkout. (Sounds like the perfect opportunity to scope out their beautiful new menswear pieces! see picture on the right -->)
Another Canadian retailer has joined the bargain frenzy–Twist My Rubber Arm is doing a Cyber Monday sale–25% off all orders!
Vex Clothing has a terrific sale going on: take 30% off your next purchase by entering promo-code VEXALICIOUS at the checkout. exp 12/3/09 (FYI: This percentage will be taken out manually and will not be seen as deducted from your online total.)
Don’t forget! Promo-code VEXALICIOUS
The pay site Public Fetish Girls will be offering their own Cyber Monday, with a special-priced Cyber Monday membership. Check out the sign up page on Monday to take advantage! Available only through Tickets Club.

New addition not yet posted on 3xL
Inner Sanctum is having a sale which I hasn't been featured on 3xl yet. They've posted a Black Friday sale and emailed it out to people on their mailing list. Their sale is a fabulous savings at 30% and the adjustments are already featured on their website.****
Christmas sales mentioned earlier this week
Westward Bound is having a X-mas sale offering an additional 10% on your order this Christmas, if you quote “XMAS10“. This discount voucher applies to their entire range and expires Thursday 31st December 2009. To ensure that you get the perfect gift for your loved one, order from stock today and save an additional 10%!

And finally Libidex's 30% catsuit sale is ongoing for another week or two. Prices are already adjusted on their site.
I recommend getting any and all orders in ASAP if you hope to have them arrive before the holidays. Many of the designers make each piece as they are ordered and do not carry stock! Also many of the designers are based internationally, so be prepared that it may take 6-8wks in a worst case scenario to arrive. But that's the (only) unfortunate side to these massive sales.
Edited to add that : Yes! I will accept rubber presents as bribes to shoot.
Photos were taken directly from the designers site. Rights belong to the designers & the shots respective photograpers. Only used to promote the latex stores.
It's amazing what a little color can do to a room!
This corner of the main floor has always been awkward because of a beam on the roof about 4 ft from the wall that separates it from the rest of the 'living room' area. It's always been intended as a table area but most tables are too big, and since we're not much for eating at the table anyway we thought a bar/breakfast nook would be far more useful.
Next we're going to paint the remaining walls a coordinating color and make the hallway (out of sight in these shots) into an art wall of sorts. We have paintings and pictures on every wall except the one I want as an art wall it seems. -_-
The chandelier is absolutely a favorite in the room now! I love the bling!! And it's nice mood lighting to sip gin & tonics.
Even my laptop fits. Just. But it fits!! So I figure this will be the new home for my lovely little macbook cause it's out of Phoenix' reach.
Next I need to get some pictures printed and put up to help settle the bold pattern. I'm thinking I should keep the pictures to black & whites since there is already so much color on this particular wall.
But here is to the small victories and a weekend of hard work. Now I have to take the kid to the park to let him blow off some steam after being cooped up in the house while we worked all weekend. :)
So... I'm not entirely sure what strain of flu just ripped through my household but one by one we were infected, devoured and left writhing in aches and pains in it's awake.
Alright that's a slight over exaggeration but it sure sounded good as I was typing it. And it's not too far off...
The infant boy I babysit during the day got sick Wednesday night & his mom thought it was something he'd eaten making him ill. So she kept him home Thursday and brought him over Friday cause he seemed better. Well I knew it was against my better judgment to take him so soon after he'd been ill but it was the day they were paying me and I had half expected to never hear from them again and not get paid.. So the fact that they showed up with my cash was shocking but that's another gripe.
Anyway! Saturday comes about and we're working on a home reno project, contemplaiting meeting up with some friends... And then in about the span of an hour I'm lifeless & useless. The next 24 hrs were brutal to say the least. Then my son Phoenix started showing signs of illness by morning, and Jonas came down with the symptoms last night. But within 24hrs of initial symptoms we're all doing well with the expection of Jonas who's still only on hr15..
While it's true we haven't been this sick in a long time, it's certainly not what I would describe as epic by any stretch of the imagiation. Now, we didn't go to the assessment center to get tested (I think that's foolish cause if you're not sick with the s.flu then you think you might possibly catch it by going there... mhmmm?) And while the flu hasn't been any fun, I don't see the need for the propaganda the media is pushing full force. Personally I'm glad I didn't go get the shot and I'm exceptionally pleased that I didn't let those effers near my son. I have an entire rant & a half about kids under 5 getting the shot at this point too but I'll save that for another day.
Anyways, the last 4 days have been a loss. I'm behind on messages. I'm behind on phone calls. But I'm slightly inspired from all the online lusting I've been able to do while lounging on the couch.
iHartPhotos -Artlife Gallery Show (trAD v iHART) from iHartVideo on Vimeo.
In the stills near the end you can catch a breif snippit of my orange hair, but only if you're really looking for it. haha
The show was awesome and had quite a turn out. Everything looked fabulous on the walls and I was really impressed by Aarons pairings of Polaroids.
