I'm a very passionate individual when it comes to music, and for the last few years I've been rather dissatisfied with the music that was hitting the market. So for the last while I've been listening to most of my old favorites with a few new artists here and there (like Zoe Keating & Imogen Heap...) But a lot of that can get rather tired after a while!

So you can only imagine my surprise to be lead to this fabulous site Headphone Commute! http://www.headphonecommute.com

And they are on Blogger and Twitter as well, which is super exciting!

Probably my favorite part of the site is the mixes sections. They have compiled awesome playlists for various genres of electronic music all available for download. It's a great way to get introduced to some new artists and not have to fuss too much.

So if you have some time and like electronic music, I highly recommend you take a look at the site. I do warn you though that it can be somewhat easy to get lost in.

I bleached the crap out of my hair....

And dyed it rather spur of the moment....

And now ...

IT'S ORANGE!

Isn't it awesome? It's like carrot top, only I'm way hotter and have tits!

It's slightly over processed at the moment, but I'm being very kind to it and conditioning lots and lots. I think I'm going to stick with this color for a bit and grow it out before deciding what to do style wise.

Enjoy

I can't predict there being many other nice days left before summer decides to fade into fall, so I had to make the best of it!

Got dressed and went for a walk around the neighborhood, then came back and hung out in my skivvvvies and got some sun! It's a rare thing when I do go out and get some sun, but I enjoy it when it happens. I love my pasty skin, but sometimes the rest of my body needs some sun to help even out the farmers tan I get from wearing too many t-shirts.

I really must say that I adore my macbook and it's photobooth app paired with the poladroid application. Photobooth + poladroid = LOVE.

So there really hasn't been that much exciting going on. I might have some fashion shoot thing happening this weekend.. Not much going on, but I'm loving every second of the nothingness. Lots of comic book reading, shoot sketching and I've truly enjoyed reading 'the vanishing face of Gaia'. <3

I really do try to enjoy every second of summer that mother nature allows, because it's so often taken for granted. And being born and raised here in the frozen tundra of Alberta, a warm summers day is pure bliss compared to -40*C. brrrr.

I'm off to have a Heineken. ;)

Needing a new Tax man.

Ideally a crazy older jewish gentleman, beard optional. But a knowledge of loopholes is a must.

So I don't think I've mentioned this here yet, but for the last 6 months I've been plagued with issues related to my taxes.

Now, I'm a good girl and tried to get my taxes done in February. Which actually backfired, because the guy I got was so new he had only just passed his training coarse. Now I hadn't filed my taxes in a few years but knew mine should be pretty straight forward.

Then! I get a letter in the mail from CRA saying I owe ridiculous amounts of back taxes! So after many many phone calls to H&R and CRA, and weeks of waiting I was feeling very alone and helpless. I finally got a call today from CRA and as it turns out the douchebag that filed my taxes at H&R had filed my 2007 on a 2008 form. So it processed as 2008, which means they added the income from 2007 & 2008.. and remember I was on maternity leave for .all. of 2008. Hence the ridiculous back taxes, because neither year on their own is a big deal but added together it puts me in a whole new tax bracket.

So I have to refile my taxes with the people who I don't trust to know their ABCs or go somewhere else and pay... again. But the damage is already done. The actions of this moron has caused me 6 continuous months of grief and the ramifications of this has had my gst cheques cut off & my child tax credit process stalled.

I guess what it boils down to, is the ignorance and incompetence displayed by the gentleman who filed my taxes is simply astronomical. I'm truly flabbergasted.

This process has been completely exhausting and words don't even quite relate how positiely livid I've been through this process and the relief I feel now. I'm gonna go have a smoke in the rain and chill out for a bit before making the rest of the calls I need to.

But seriously. If ANYONE in calgary knows of a really good tax guy I need his name and number for next year. I will never go through H&R Block again.
