Only a day or two in and I've had an abismal time blocking out all of the music I'm trying to avoid. It's been pretty awesome. I've come to accept I can only really control the music during the day while I'm at home alone, or ipod related tunes. But I think that should be fine, I still hope to reconnect with that beat box/bluesy undertones I'm hoping for.
On another completely unrelated note: I hate attempting to buy things from Craigslist or Kijiji. *ARG* I religiously search the listings for outdoor toys for P, and often times I message the poster withing 15 minutes of their initial post. But for some reason I'm not having any luck and everything I try to get is sold before they even reply to me! I put my cell number in the message, and I mention that I have transportion to pick up the (rather large) outdoor toys. And still nothing!!! But god dammit! I simply do not have the 350.00 to drop on outdoor toys new, and the idea of getting it for 1/3rd the price is undeniably alluring but the frustration may wind up being too much for me take. I mean sweet fucking jesus it's a plastic thing for kids to climb on!
*end rant*
Bonus... The condo complex I live in is getting a new fence put in within the next month, and I hope to have the yard completely redone within a week or two after the fence. So once mothernature decides to stop SNOWING(!!!) I should have a new shoot space open for when OppositeOctave and RavensLaughter will be coming to visit. yay! Both are 95% sure things so I'm very excited, and I would love any other Alberta locals to share hints on locations that may be possible in the next few months.
I'm putting myself on a Tom Waits diet. Cutting the crap and getting back to basics.
I'm over saturated by electronica, I feel repulsed by most of the MTV drivel. Manson should of overdosed and is making a fool out of this prior work. Trent screwd the pooch on the last album, and no one needs to hear a 50y/o balding man since and 18y/o's angst driven song.
Where's the heart? Where is the inspiration to be found through? And yes I do feel some of that music is valid and it has a time and a place, but for me that time just isn't now.
Right now I need my raspy voiced lover to tell me about life and hold me at night with those sweet sweet piano chords. We'll take mescalin in the desert and find ourselves in the throws of confusion. I need my blue valentine. I need to feel again.

It's been confirmed that Scarlett Johansson will be playing the Black Widow in the next Iron Man movie. *jumps for joy* Seriously though, I've had a crush on her since Lost in Translation and the idea of her in a latex catsuit is enough to make me melt in my seat!
Even if you're not a fan of miss Johansson & even if you're not a fan of comic book/cosplay movies; you've got to admit the idea of ScarJo zipped into a skin tight custom made catsuit is enough to intrigue.

Comedy Central was tipped off to the new site 2M4M.org which ironically started as an anti-gay-marriage protest march by NOM. But the fabulous folks at NOM forgot to buy up the domain and now it's turned a safe haven for the other side of the force.
Article
- Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
- Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
- Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
- Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
- Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
- Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
- Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
- Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in the world.
- Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
- Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans

I support gay marriage. I support equal rights. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and having differing opinions does not negate the importance of respect for our right to our opinions.
that I'm loving the new Eminem single.
hehehe
It's great that he sees the bullshit celebrities in a similar light that I do. I'm by no means an Eminem fan, but I do think the celebrity craze has gone too far. And despite how the video is tacky, it's remarkable how lifelike some of the characters are.
Unfortunately the embed feature was disabled on all of the videos I could find, but here is the link.

I'm throwing a dinner party tonight for my friends Chris and Marla who just got home from LA!
I'm doing up a roast in the crock pot with all kinds of herbs, peppers and just a bit of garlic. I'm gonna do up some mashed potatoes + gravy and some grilled veggies. Yumm.
All of this fell into place last night while I was talking to Chris on msn and heard the chaotic story of Marla forgetting her passport and needing to stay in LA an extra night. So Marla is flying in this morning, and Chris got in last night after a very stressful day at the airport, and what is nicer than a relaxing dinner with friends, good drinks and a cab ride home at the end of the night. The new domesticated me (ha!) had the roast was on before I even ate breakfast. ;)
We're still waiting for the snow to melt to set up the patio, but it's suppose to be 10*C for the first time in a month, so I'm beyond excited to (hopefully) have dinner out on the patio. Need to get a few little things like a couple lanterns, solar powered ground lights, outdoor carpet and a heater. All of which I've been waiting to get until the snow cleared. It's still too early in the season to get any plants going, but eventually I want to get some huge planters and get some shrubs or something back there too. It's really hard trying to design a small patio space, but I think the yard will look really nice eventually. I'll have to do a shoot back there this summer once the new fence goes up. And really until the new fences go up all my work will sort of seem like polishing a turd, but that's the unfortunate part of living in an older condo. *shrugs*
I'll take some pictures tonight to share.
